What on earth makes BK think anyone cares, or that it matters in the least bit what someone halfway around the world who eats seal, scorpions, and rat dung prefers between a big mac and a whopper?

If they asked them if they preferred a cockroach sandwich or a whopper, and former won out, would that have proven anything?

Not that I have a major preference between the two, but the principle of the matter is annoying..

If the cockroach sandwich won, BK probably wouldn't air the ad.

Oh yeah... spider.

Its because they are flame broiled... so it tastes like their food. (cooked over a fire)

They can't fully comprehend the greatness of Thousand Island dressing until they have had a few Big Macs.

You want to slit every time you watch the telly?

I never eat BK, too expensive.

I found it funny how they were comparing a Big Mac and a Whopper, two totally different burgers. They should've compared the Whopper and a Quarter Pounder, they're more similar.

Either way BK sucks, I haven't eaten there in probably almost 10 years, every time I see one of their commercials I'm reminded why.

I think the campaign was genius...you rather see some doucebags in mcdonalds commercials singing, or having douchebag familys dressed as whoppers?

The whopper virgin idea was insanely smart...

From the comfort of my chair I can mute the sound or change channels. Try it sometime.

Yup. I don't know why people stay locked onto the TV, watching commercials. Maybe I just don't get the effect since I only have a TV tuner card in my computer; maybe regular TVs have some other capability which keeps people firmly fixated on whatever's on the screen.

I especially love those warnings that say "Viewer Discretion is advised."

WOW, you mean I have the ability to choose whether or not I want to continue watching something!!??!??? WHY HAS NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THIS BEFORE??!?!?

Here is my complaint. If you want an expert opinion on what is a better wine, Opus One or Boone Farm, you don't go ask someone who has never had wine before. If you want an expert opinion on which is the best burger you go to experts on burgers. Not "burger virgins" as you are asking the least knowledgeable people.

lol, burgers aren't in the same category as wine...plus, they aren't looking for expert opinions, they are looking for the a normal person might want, so I wouldn't complain if they did the same with wine. what do I care if an expert chooses one wine, but everyone else prefers another?

regardless, the actual outcome of the taste test is not the priority

are you retarded dude? the warning is to WARN you of what might offend some people, so you don't have to see it before deciding to change the channel

And I'm sure there are some that chose the bigmac, but of course they would not show them in their commercial...
I agree with the other posts too- why the hell do I care what someone else likes...I've had both, I can make up my own mind...I have people tell me all the time that mayo is great and it makes most things better, but that doesnt change the fact that I detest it

Never said burgers were in the same category but from the sounds of it, you want the least educated opinion on which burger is the best?

I know that if a friend recommends a place to eat, I take their opinion with a grain of salt if they know nothing of the food. E.g. if one of my friends who has never had sushi recommended a sushi restaurant, I wouldn't put much stock in that opinion.

It is the same thing here. It has everything to do with credibility. Someone who has never had a burger has zero credibility. I am pretty sure these people would pick a whopper over a chili cheese burger from the world famous Beacon but that doesn't mean it is better.

Meh, I'll take a Big Mac anyday. They replaced the McDonalds at my regular foodcourt with a Burger King, and I've gotten sick of them. Their fries are mediocre, and the burgers just don't do it for me.

Then word it differently, as in, "This may contain offensive material," assuming the "TV-14" or "TV-MA" rating in the corner doesn't serve as a subtle clue.

As it stands, the warning is stupid. Viewer discretion is always available. Advising use of it is kind of stupid.

well obviously an expert will have a more "wise" opinion, but when it comes to a hamburger from a fast food restaurant, it is a whole lot different. but again, the actual results of the taste test are secondary in the campaign.

well most people are dumb. that being said, most people aren't thinking "is this show/movie i've never heard of going to have anythign inappropriate in it? I have no problems with 2 second warnings

TV ads are aimed at people who watch TV, obviously... people who can watch bad acting and tired, uninspired plots - or worse, reality tv - without feeling a pressing need to vomit or turn it off and do something else. Of course ads which are aimed at idiots are idiotic, why would they be anything else?

90% of what I watch is sports, news, and I can't avoid every dumb commercial that comes on. Changing the channel is clearly too difficult.
