Does anyone know if WD has fixed whatever issues have been plaguing the 2tb drives? Newegg has them on sale for $100 - 110, and I have an older drive that is scraping when accessed.
This drive will be used for archive once warranty replacement is here, so capacity > speed. I have an excellent track record w/WD and prefer them unless there is a significant reason not to.
Also, this system is running XPx64 which WD's utility did not support last time I checked, is Acronis still the ghosting program of choice? The drive has multiple programs that I do not have the keys for anymore, nor can I afford again, and a bit-by-bit copy is needed. I have backed up all files and settings in multiple places.
