Current speaker setup similar in quality to old school Logitech Z550

I'm still rocking my 550s, but I'm running into a problem with the connection somewhere, it fades in and out. I can shake the control pod or tip the computer a few times and it comes back.

So, I'm looking for something in this volume range that's currently available and somewhat affordable.

Thanks

A 2.1 setup with real speakers, subwoofer and a reciever would be better
(but would cost far more than z5500 if you don't have some pieces lying around)

I have actually used one of those Sony HTiB and enjoy having better control over the treble, bass, Prologic, etc. They only cost me about $150 but I'm sure u can get one of those Onkyo HTiBs for a lot less coin.
FYI, I used to have Klipsch 4.1 Promedia which died on me after 8 years. Then to the HTiB, then Logitech Z5300e and now happily enjoying a Z5500.
