current laptops and cd drives or secondary sata

Im not quite sure what the current term for sata is

my Fujitsu 531 lifebook has space for an optical drive, Ive replaced the cd drive with a secondary hdd (ssd)

do current laptops have secondary sata (or whatever the current term for sata is)

a lot of laptops are moving away from standard sata and only using m.2, which can support nvme and sata. that's if they support 2 drives (which isn't uncommon as the smaller form factor allows it, but certainly not standard).
