Current cell phone marketplace/plans - me confused

So my contract is up w/ Verizon in a few days. It's 2 phones - mine has unlimited data/exchange for corporate email and my wife has some sort of data. We pay about $160/month after a 20% corporate discount.

My phone (Droid Razr Maxx) is a piece of shit and I yearn for the day I can get rid of it. Have been happy generally with Verizon service in the area, so no real complaints there.

Just have no idea whether it's best to stick with Verizon or go elsewhere. Work pays for most of the monthly bill (my portion of it) and gives me $300 every couple years to buy a new phone, so buying something on contract probably makes the most sense.

Are there better options than VZW? Any way to hold onto the unlimited data if I stick with VZW?

Stick with Verizon unlimited data plan. You can still upgrade your phone without losing unlimited data. Just Google around for those loopholes.

If your company pays for it, then it would be up to the company if they wanted to join Verizon's new shared data plans if you were to upgrade your phone at a subsidized phone.

I've heard that if it's through companies you will still get unlimited data. I would check on that before deciding what to do. The only reason I'm still on Verizon is the unlimited data and I buy my own phones.

If it's just a regular personal plan but your company pays for a portion, then upgrading your phone in the conventional sense will lose the unlimited data (it would need to be a corporate account to have above mentioned exception I believe).

$300? Shoot, you could basically buy just about any Verizon phone lightly used at that price, perhaps a few bucks out of pocket. Do they care how you buy the phone?
