I'm not picky between NVIDIA and ATI. That's generally what I'm willing to pay. Anyone have some good suggestions in that price range (or if I should wait for some new product that is coming out shortly)?

Thanks.

You can spring slightly more for a 8800GTS 320MB for $240, the current gen offerings at midrange are lackluster (8600GTS and HD 2600XT) and you'd see a huge performance increase by going with a 8800GTS 320MB for not much more.

Spend a little moe on the gts, it will be worth it. You could try and get in on some hot deal on a 1950xt 256/512mb but that's it for 150-200$. Better to spend a little more for the 8800gts like piuc said.

X1950XT hands down, but as others have noted, it can be worthwhile to scour out a 8800GTS for the extra bucks.

Could a 8800GTS handle max rez on a 30" computer monitor (like 2500 x 1900)?

What about the X1950XT?

All I really play is World of Warcraft, which I don't think is too graphics intensive.

Just doing some searching, it seems that getting the X1950XT for under $200 it pretty tough. Am I missing something?

I haven't seen the 8800 gts 320 for under 260 AR after shipping. I personally think that the x1950xt for 175 plus shipping (say $10) is still creeping too close to the 8800 gts for my taste, but it depends on your system and what you're using it for. I spent $155 AR including shipping on my x1950xt and it was about $110 less than the 8800 gts. That's a sweet spot, but I don't think that the few remaining x1950xt cards will get that low again. Also, the 8800 gts is going to trend downward at an ever-increasing pace as the gen 2 cards get closer to release in the nov-jan time frame.
