Currency Question...

2 years ago the exchange rate of Pesos to American Dollars was 2000 to 1. And now it is 16 to 1. Does that mean that if I had taken 1000 dollars to mexico 2 years ago, and kept the 2,000,000 pesos under my bed would that money now be worth 125,000 US dollars ??

That is correct.

But didnt they change their money or something recently, and thats why its such a large difference?
