Curious Vista Issue ...?

I'm currently running Vista x86 Ultimate. I haven't performed any tweaks, so the system is running as "installed." I do enable the "Administrative Tools" link on the start menu. And this is where I'm trying to run it from. Other programs in this list, such as System Configuration, Services, ... etc., all work - Only "Computer Management" fails to start.

I does request "confirmation", but then NOTHING happens. I've tried running it as "Admin", and even opened up the location and tried using the "launcher". So now I'm stumped...

The reason I want to open Computer Management is because I want to access the Disk Management function. I almost suspect that some program I've installed may have effected this alteration. Would Diskeeper do this? How about Acronis True Image? I can't think of any other application that might be responsible.

Anyone have any Ideas?

No idea, but if you bring up the run dialog with Win+R and enter "mmc", then do Add/Remove Snap-In from the menu, you should be able to reproduce the Computer Management dialog. Not really a solution but it should keep you moving for now.

No - I tried that as well. I'm almost certain Diskeeper, or Acronis True Image, is the culprit. Because I know that it was working prior to installing those programs...

For the moment, I'm too busy with my Xbox 360 and Mass Effect to worry about it. :p
