Curious on how thread updates are handled

When I post in a thread, I can then use the back browser button and immediately get back to the forum page that I was using (not the thread itself - like the previous FuseTalk version did).

When I respond to a poll, and then use the back button, I do not get back to the forum, just back to the thread again. It takes a second back request to get to the forum.

When responding to the poll, I am not generating a post.

Why the difference?
