Curious, does having a USB Keyboard connection matter?

Something I've been wondering, does having a USB Keyboard connection have any real world advantages over PS/2?

I mean, it just inputs extremely simple data to the system and I don't see how USB could make it any better.

And considering there are issues with using a USB keyboard in BIOS and DOS.

I haven't noticed any advantage whatsoever. Some KBs have built-in USB hubs though, so if you want to utilize those then you'll have to use the USB connector.

Not only that, you cna plug in the USB Keyboard anytime you want. With PS/2 you hve to reboot.

I have a Logitech Elite keyboard that's USB, but I use the PS2 adaptor because USB doesn't work in DOS or when the computer is first booting up.

I have a USB keyboard and have no problem using it in dos mode.....Maybe you need a mobo that supports usb properly!!
