i was a thinkin....
FPS usually have a FOV setting and with a sweet ass plasma screen or the funky sony monitor, can current games be set to run at the wide resolution ??
i would absolutely love to have some peripheral vision.
or maybe a twin monitor setup with 'modified' bezels (if they could be shielded to not interefere).
i can dream anyway right.

hmmm... then again, i bet you can just as easily stretch the screen all the way out (w/ a normal 4:3 res) and tweak the FOV just right so it looks same as a wide res would

i dont think theres any games that really support that, you could strech it but youd get no extra peripheral vision, just everything lookin a little squished.

In the old Doom, you could set up multiple computers to run front right and left views. It would be cool if you could do that now. I use 4 monitors,it would be sweet to set one up as fron, one as left and one as right...talk about peripheral vision....:) I did set up UT on 2 monitors once...only problem with that was your crosshair is pretty much right in between the screens...:) Hmm... I might try it again now that I have more screens....

Quake3 has support for Wide-screen resolutions, and any game using the Q3 engine should as well...

If your HDTV lets you plug in to your video card, you should be all set!
