Curious about this server I picked up....

The problem is that this motherboard probaly has jumpers on it, and I have no manual, nor does it appear on the net anywhere.

Put it on your LAN, load up the OS of your choice with the Apache web server, PHP, and other apps of your choice, and have fun. Remote desktop, VNC, or SSH (depending on OS) will keep you from needing another monitor / keyboard / mouse for continued administration (just pull the stunt I did and disable the LAN connection that you are RD-ing over on the server). 😉

wow great server box, Can I have it? 🙂

Sorry I think this might be staying here for awhile. The other toy that we picked up was an Alpha 21264. I have no clue what do do with this thing, nor what it can run anymore.

they did make 1gig coppermines on a 100mhz bus, they were just OEM only as I recall and fairly rare.

i have a set of these.. very valueable.. 🙂 i got them from dell pulls..

It's actually a Siemens-Fujitsu also, in a solid metal case, not one bit of plastic on it. Weighs about 70lbs. Any ideas on an os for it?

Few businesses are looking to newly deploy a ~ 7 year old server. Few individuals would pay much for a box that (for more PC-oriented tasks) is outperformed by a $150 refurb'd box.

It WAS a nice system, but now, you'd be best off parting it out and reusing the case for something more modern, if that's possible.
