Curious about dual booting with Vista and Server 2008.

My main computer has Vista 64-bit, and I want to install Server 2008 on a separate partition I created on the hard drive. Has anyone done this and have some tips? I haven't been able to find a lot of information since everyone seems to be interested in Windows 7. I am doing this because I want to play with some features in Sever 2008 like Hyper-V since it won't work in a virtual machine. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hmmmm.

If by separate partition you mean you're going to repartition the drive before you install the second OS then that will work fine. I don't know about the Server 2008 install program, but you won't be able to use Vista to repartition any part of the drive that ever had any data on it.

Your best bet would be Partition Magic.

Well I already had partitioned the drive from my original Vista installation. I just moved all the data off and let server 2008 format the partition I wanted to use. I don't need to do any formatting in Vista until I remove Server 2008.

It worked fine. I can easily boot into either of them.
