I have a "Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Pro" I bought about 3 years ago. When I upgraded to Vista I took the thing out and threw it in a box and promptly forgot about it. I was wondering if Creatives got their act together yet and is providing drivers for W7 (64 bit Ultimate) and how they're running (no BSOD's like with Vista).

I'll probably throw it in tonight unless I get a bunch of "no"'s.

Moving to general hardware.

Well, not the same card as you but I have the X-Fi Titanium HD and the Win7 64bits drivers are working perfectly.

I think Creative got a lot together and now it shows in their drivers. They may not release frequently but when they do it works.

But then again, some will post and say they are crap because on their rig it causes troubles. But there's other like me who had SB Live!, Audigys and X-Fis that always worked.

Creative windows are and always have been very system dependent. After XP it became more apparent because of the way that drivers were implemented in Vista and beyond.

I have attempted to use a creative product on two different systems with different operating systems with no luck, I suggest finding someone who has one and trying it out first

system 1) titanium x-fi q6600 sli 285s vista
system 2) prelude (i think it is called that?) uses x-fi chip i7 920 amd 5870 w7 64

Both systems had incredible crackling and static noises during gameplay. Neither system shared any hardware.

Other people have more luck, but beware.

System 1 : Vista...go figure.
System 2: Prelude is made by Auzentech, not Creative...

I have the Fatal1ty Pro EG as well.
The Windows 7 drivers from Creative have worked fine with mine since release.
Its a pretty good card and has lasted well so far.
Running a fairly new Logitech 2.1 system with it and it sounds decent.

i too have the fatal1ty pro card, but i had a hell of a time making the drivers from creative work. everytime i would go to install them, they would look for a cd or something, and fail.

I ended up finding modded drivers, and installed those, and they work like a dream

Yea, except you can't output anything if the headphone jack is plugged in, and per the mighty creative driver team, they can't make a software switch for it.

Creative's drivers have been shit since the Audigy days, and I know, since I"ve been with them every painful step of the way.

I’ve had my X-Fi XtremeMusic on both XP and Win 7 (64 bit) and I haven’t had any issues.
