Curfew in Baghdad set to be lifted

Great news!

This means after fasting all day during Ramadan Iraqis will be able to go to McDonalds after dark without running the risk of being shot!

I don't know if there's a McDonald's in Baghdad. But there IS a Burger King. 🙂

The curfew is good news but most likely won't last long. After the first few late night attacks/bombings it will be right back in place.

attacks/bombing against? Do you really think a curfew stopped the "resistance" from doing their thing? Do you think all the roadside bombs were placed there in the daylight? The curfew didn't stop them before.

What's the point of you posting in this thread?

It is NEWS! Did you read the link? Who made the decision? What is their stated reasons for lifting it? It's all important to getting Baghdad back on the road to "normalcy".

But yeah, I understand why you don't understand why this was posted - can't post anything but "bad" news from Iraq on this forum. Sorry I forgot the "rules"

You are the one who posted this, right?

"attacks/bombing against? Do you really think a curfew stopped the "resistance" from doing their thing? Do you think all the roadside bombs were placed there in the daylight? The curfew didn't stop them before."

So if you feel that way and you started the thread I asked you what was the point of posting this thread? But you turned it into your usual partisan nonsense. I never said you can't post good news from Iraq. I'm just saying if you post a thread about the curfew ending and then post an opinion that suggests it doesn't make any difference what is the point?

My goodness are you that blind? Does everyone have to hold your hand through everything? Nevermind....I know the answers to those.

It means NORMALCY. People can be free, free to worship during Ramadan, and free to grow as a city and economy. The security seems to be allowing this - according to the article and the Iraqi official. My assertion that the attacks wouldn't be an issue was only becuase someone tried to say that by lifting the curfew the attacks would increase for some reason. Me pointing out that the resistance already breaks the curfew doesn't make my opinion that this is good news ambiguous at all.

There was no "partisan" nonsense😛 except for your need to challenge me on why I posted it. Do you see how many other threads are posted about news without comment? I figured that this posting of relatively good news wouldn't need my interpretation, but I guess that it was needed by you.
If you don't understand - maybe you should atleast read the article and ask questions about it - instead of why I posted it.
