Curb rash no longer

I made a thread a while back about my getting some curb rash on my new wheels....here is the pic of that:

I just picked up my wheel from getting re finished. There is no evidence of rash whatsoever. If you look real close, you can tell the wheel was re-machined, but even then it doesn't look even remotely bad. Here is a pic of the re-finished wheel. $150 was the cost.

I am in the same boat...my wheels are more expensive that even Porsche wheels due to the metalurgy...$800 for all four; or sell them for $800 and pick up new for $1600.

It's a wash so I am going new and with the 1/2" wider fronts that add like $500 to the cost 🙁, but look subtly better.

And Trolling cost even more but does not look better...
The thread is about a simple but cost effective wheel repair leave it at that...

Where do you go to get something like this done? any tire shop?

Go to any dealership and ask who they use to re-finish wheels. All new car dealerships have a re-finisher on hand. The name you hear the most probably does the better work.

i've had this done before. friend of mine curb rashed my car when it was 10 days old.

you really can't tell if you go to a good shop. i know there are actaully guys who will do it in your driveway if you are too lazy to go to the shop. if its not horribly bad or you don't have like forged rims usually they can do it in a couple hours.
