I am tryhing to add a printer to fedora core 5 (mythDora). I am normally a ubuntu user and so i've never seen this problem before. Here is the gist of the error message:
Cannot retrieve the printer list (error from the manager)
Connetion to the CUPS server failed
The IPP request failed for an unknown reason
I have tried everything i can think of:
- using yum / yumex to install all CUPS related software
- downloading the CUPS source and using ./configure make install, and gettind the ppd file from linuxprinters.org
but nothing works. can anybody please advise? how does one add a printer in fedora core? thank you for any help.
