Culver's

Anyone eaten here before? One is being built about 10 minutes from my house and I'm intrigued because I've never heard of this chain before.

If you've been to one of these what other place would you compare it to? Wendy's?

They are mainly a ice cream place such as DQ and less a food place like Wendy's is and they change their daily flavor that makes you at times hate it because it will be so long where you might miss out on your favorite flavor.

Although it is a creation from Wisconsin coming to take over using the dairy states power for their ice cream.

I did just look at the menu and it seems to have more of a food than ice cream/dessert slant. With that being said, the desserts do look pretty tasty.

And I'll be sure to give the sourdough melt a shot. I noticed a lot of their adds point out the spicier side of food (from jalapenos to a hint of habanero) so I can already tell I'm going to be a fan. Don't do a lot of fast food but it will be nice to try something new.

got a couple in my town. Great fries, good burgers, and a good turtle sundae.

They have a decent deal with their snack pack, burger, fry, and pop for $2.99, however overall they're pricier than your normal fast food places.

edit - they also have really good fried fish and chicken. Their 3 piece chicken dinner with cole slaw, a bun, and potatoes is really good. Of course it's also 8 bucks...

I would say thats probably a good comparison.

Culvers Custard=win.

Crinkle fries FTW! They have good burgers, custard treats, etc. My wife loves the turtle sundae.

They're about like a Steak and Shake, if you have those in your area -- a little pricier than McDonald's, but much better. Culvers, however, is much better than Steak and Shake.

Their food is definitely better than any other fast food in the midwest, but their ice cream / custard is awesome. Once they started spreading in the midwest I never went to DQ anymore. Now that I live on the west coast I miss Culver's more than any other food place and always go to one when I fly home.

I'm pretty sure they do at my local Culver's.

I've never really been a huge fan of Culver's. It's better than fast food, but so much of their food is crazy greasy or fried.

I am a huge fan and love it. Butterburgers and chili cheese fries are both very good. I don't know why the hate is so high in this thread.

Culver's is pretty damn good, especially the root bear and frozen custard. However, it is more expensive and has smaller portions than other fast food joints. Though the latter is probably doing a public service.

I prefer Culver's. I think Culver's has a wider menu too. Lots of grease though.

Turtle sundae + Culver's root beer => you can hear your arteries hardening

The ones here are like a regular restraunt,dine in or drive thru but they have great food and custards,concrete shakes and it goes on and on...

All of their burgers and sandwiches are a notch above other fast-food joints. The one we have by us in NW Indiana has a killer walleye sandwich. Don't see it on the website.... For something different, try the prime rib sammich....
