I don't know if there's a thread this crazy should into rather than here by itself:

Give Pence 'Exclusive Authority' on Which Electoral Votes to Count: Lawsuit

A group of Republican Trump supporters, including one Texas congressman, have filed a new lawsuit in a last-ditch attempt to overturn the election results.

Why are people that have no concept of how government works allowed to be in government?

The suit, led by Representative Louie Gohmert of Texas, specifically seeks to have Pence reject the Electoral College votes from Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, which all voted for President-elect Joe Biden, in an attempt to hand Trump a second term in office despite his loss on November 3.

The lawsuit claims, without evidence, that such action is needed because of "substantial evidence of election fraud and other illegal conduct."

how you know it's truly batshit insane...

Essentially, then, they are saying whichever party happens to be in power, gets to decide which states' votes should be accepted in the election? So once in power, a party will remain there in perpetuity? And by an odd coincidence they want this new approach to democracy to be adopted during a Republican administration?

Sounds legit.

They always say that when a white republican is in office.
when a black democrat is in office the mantra becomes "QUESTION EVERYTHING!"

When the Repub party, out of existential necessity became The Liars Club of America post-WWII, Trump found himself a home where he could fit right in, be the best of the best of them and be admired and exalted for the innate talent he possessed toward wielding that deadly weapon of theirs.

It'll be a long time coming before the Repubs find another Liar-in-Chief the likes of one Donald Trump that they can swear their undying loyalty to. True, such talent for lying (even under oath) is rare indeed, but rest assured the Repub's ability to find another liar of the type they could respect and adore is as keen as the abilities of the next LIC they are now searching for.

There's no chance this lawsuit will go anywhere though? I assume no court is going to decide to abolish democracy, just like that?
Who pays for these cases? It's essentially just performance art. Who has money to burn on stunts like this?

Rich Republicans litigate as sport, just to fuck with people. It's a form of entertainment.

It seems like the House should be looking at some form of disciplinary action for this guy, Gaetz and a few others.

And where are the State Bar associations? Don't they have rules against frivolous actions?
