Culpepper?

One of my friends is saying that Dante Culpepper is going to be out for 6 weeks. Since when? All the websites out there are still just saying doubtful for Sunday, but he wants to play this week.

he's doubtful for next week I believe. Gus is the man! I need him, stupid commish in my 12 team 2 QB league... 🙁

His injury normall keeps players out 2-6 weeks. Both Culpepper and Tice have said that Culpepper is a fast healer and that the injury can be played with, it is just painful. My bet would be that Culpepper will sit out this game (or start the game and have to leave early like mid 2nd quarter) and will be back to full time duty the following week.

Sep 22 During his Monday afternoon press conference, Vikings head coach Mike Tice said that quarterback Daunte Culpepper has "multiple transverse process fractures?three of them." Culpepper will be listed as doubtful for this week's game against the 49ers. He will try to practice Friday and if he is able to throw, he will try to play. If not, he'll be listed as the third quarterback behind Gus Frerotte and Shaun Hill. Asked how long an injury like this typically sidelines a player, Tice responded "two-to-six weeks, depending on the toughness of the player." He concluded that Daunte is tough so he expects him back soon, adding he was feeling better on Monday than he did Sunday, when he couldn't throw or lift his leg up. Culpepper sustained the injury during their week three game against the Lions when he took a knee to the back from Lions' linebacker Wali Rainer after scoring his second touchdown of the game with 4:57 left in the first half.

Views: We'd be surprised if Culpepper plays this week. This is obviously a huge blow to the Vikings' offense and fantasy teams everywhere that had been enjoying his fast start. Stay tuned to see if he practices on Friday, but get a backup plan in place in the meantime. Gus Frerotte looked merely average in relief of Daunte against the Lions, so you can probably do better than to pick him up.

basically if he practices on friday he's good to go.
