Cuisinart crap

A couple years ago I purchased this kettle from Amazon.com. KETTLE May 4, 2015 is the day and I bought it due to the 3 year warranty. About 6 months ago, it started leaking around the handle, so I took it apart, found the leak, and fixed it with some epoxy. Great, worked fine afterwards. Last week it started leaking again, but this time from the bottom of the unit. Decided to use the warranty since it shouldn't be leaking in 2 different places in only 2 years, and lo and behold, their warranty is crap. By that, I mean I have to pay to ship it to them and then pay for shipping back. It will cost approximately $14 to ship it to them not counting getting a box for it and they want $15.00 in the form of a money order to ship it back to me. 30 bucks just to get another kettle that will eventually leak??? Who does that in this day and age? My Jaybird X2's just died last week and all they wanted was a before and after photo of the complete headphones and then one with two cuts in the cord near the earbuds. No shipping BS, no limited crap, just hey, they are broken, we'll send you a new pair.

I bought a clear kettle for less than it costs me to send back the other one, wait 2 weeks, and get one back to me, and it does the job just fine. I left a negative review for Cuisinart on Amazon.com along with the myriad of other people who feel shafted by this policy. There are no moving parts in the cuisinart except for the few buttons on top and the lid and they don't even touch the water. How hard is it to create an item that doesn't leak? Evidently, pretty damn difficult.

Also, our cuisinart burr grinder is starting to make a weird noise in the motor area. Can't wait to see what warranty it has.

How on earth does a kettle leak? It's a metal bowl. Even if it's spot welded from separate pieces instead of molded, that's not some tall order.

Holding water until it boils is the only thing a kettle is supposed to do, why does it fail at that?

it's got a fancy clear fill level indicator on the side, so its got at least one hole on the bottom probably with a silicone boot

I suppose your replacement kettle is fine if you only drink black tea.

I have the same one you have just had fail. No trouble in 3 years. I actually had no idea I've had it that long, but the Amazon link told me I have.
