Insane. Truly, the fact that people can't see a marked and chasm-like difference between the US political system and that of a communist regime that imprisons those who oppose it is not just ludicrous but also almost unfathamable to me. Not to be dismissive, but I don't see anything else really worth continuing on this matter.

You would be right 10 years ago Skoorb. Things have changed in Cuba is all people are saying in here.
America is lagging in our foreign policy and emulating what Cuba once was.
it is time to get over the bay of pigs, the people who ran from their country at the time lost, The CIA's little assasinations failed. The people who left their country lost in the ghettos of miami, (there always are exceptions to the rule) castro's communism lost, but in the end the people won and are improving their lot. there is NO reason to shun the Cubans anymore. we can try to encourage more freedoms but killing them economiclly is bad for both neighbors becasue they snubbed us 40-50 years ago.

There's reasons for Cubans to shun foreigners according to the government?

They are trying to kill off the dependancy on the dollar.
Kinda hard thing to do being 30 miles off the coast.
this may very well be a isolated thing in a town where the black market is out of control.
Don't take anything but euros until we get our economy stabilized heck I can't use a british pound as legal tender here also. what's the problem? (besides the sensationist slant on this biased anti-cuban OP)

lets assume they are socially inclined and want a communal society...this is what i got out of them.
they can still in private discuss politics, they are very well informed on world issues, and discuss them regularly...mind you they are in the privacy of their own home...but that is all i do as well.
Maybe you can help me with this.

Your missing you're personal freedom they once said a good revolutionary critique's himself let's see you critique the Castro regime. Also lacking is a future its hard to advance anywhere in Cuba you can't make something out of yourself maybe you don't like it(if you can conform to have less) but I want to be something in life.Rafters don't just die in the sea for no reason they want to leave a repressive government and support their family even if they have to bust their butts working here.

Part of Cuba's economy used to be the 800million dollars exiles pumped back into Cuba for their families and friends to survive.Exiles will still pump the dollars in just now the government is going to make some taxes for the conversion to current currency.

Well the black market is out of control we'd used to steal gas and resell it to foreigners making 90dollars in 3 weeks in Cuba is really damn good.Especially since it can take most ppl a year to earn 200dollars.

Nice to think someone who's never seen Cuba or actually lived there can call a real Cuban an "anti-Cuban".Freedom of speech is a great thing don't move to Cuba you wouldn't like it.Some ppl need to understand if you can complain about the government here why can't Cuban's complain about the Castro regime. If I complain and express the bad Castro has done I am anti-cuban but if I praised Castrol I'd be a real cuban? thats some flawed logic.

Nothing wrong with wishing your country the best its only messed up that your not allowed to even voice anything to help the country. It's not a socialism vs captialism view its a view of a horrible regime repressing ppl to instill fear and stay in power.

totally free and just about as good as photoshop there Stunt.

I recommend the GIMP to folks who need basic image editing capability but don't have a lot of cash. It's not even *close* to the robustness of Photoshop, but then, not many people *need* that level of power, either.

I bet if we lift the sanctions the Cuban Government would fall faster than by keeping them. It would greatly raise the standard of living and the Cuban People would be alble to witness first hand Democracy and Capitalism.
