I'm sure you were gonna say "ninny".

Anyway, this just proves that tae-kwan-do sucks. He sucker-kicked a pudgy ref and the guy barely flinched.

Well this guy is surely no "angel"! I bet he felt like utter crap after he did that and realized what a colossal mistake he made seeing as how he was ahead in the match anyway!

doubt it. they have refused to apolgize for what he did.

The ref was trained in secret Shaolin "Iron Head" Style :)

as to Cuba, they never appoligise, but this dude's usefulness to the state is now officially over. Time to pick up a plow and plant sugar cane.

The ref told him to sit down and receive medical attention, he had no choice, and he was sitting getting treatment while he was counted out, that is hardly fair. Its not like a broken toe is going to immobilize you very much- I broke 2 of my middle toes (got stepped on) during a soccer game and still played, its moreso a nuisance than anything else when your have that much adrenalin in your system. Its not like he didnt have 4 other toes to stand on and the rest of his foot, the toes are for pushing and somewhat balancing.

Its like getting a cut in the ufc and the ref calling the fight while you are getting it patched up because its taking too long. Yes the rules in taekwondo only allot 1 minute, but you lose points not disqualified unless its taking excessive time (forget number).

What a little bitch, lifetime ban is appropriate.

No, appropriate would be the authorities detaining him when he's about to leave the country & charging him with assault. This is "on the job" for athletes. If I were to sucker punch or kick my boss or anyone else where I work, I guarantee you 100% that not only would I be fired (which is essentially what his ban means to him), but the police would be paying a visit to me very quickly. Toss him into a Chinese labor camp for a few years.

yeah i thought it was a little harsh too to get DQ'd for basically getting medical attention. However the kick was uncalled for.

you sure they just wouldn't chuckle a bit and say 'now now'?

I am sure an assault charge could be pending still...

This is why geeks can't relate to atheltics too much...."ahh man this hurts" would be a constant mantra.

After seeing a few taekwondo matches myself I don't really blame him. Half of the judges were blind and the other half were paid off

while the officating has been crap. he knew the rules and didnt get up. NOT that it matters.

he struck a ref that is enough to get him kicked out ofr life.

that's what they want although it hadn't been decided yet. I'd buy him a beer if he was ever in town.

I think that the Cuban is sitting just fine with his decision. His career was probably over anyways, so might as well put those fighting skills to use.

ref didn't just decide to DQ him, it is a rule, he had 1 minute to get up and fight otherwise he loses. Ref told him when there were 6 seconds left and he didn't get up. There is a large clock showing how much time he had left.

He deserved it and proved it by his actions after being DQed.
