I have a CTX PR960F 19" Flat CRT and I don't know if anyone has run into this, but I ran into it accidentally. If you push the - and + buttons together, hold them, turn the monitor off, turn the monitor back on, then release the - and + buttons, you get 2 new options in the on-screen menu called "Special" and "Location". Location just changes the position of the menu on the screen but my question is on the "Special" menu. There are some options that I have no idea what they are and do. They are "Sub-Con" and "Burn-In". My guess is that Sub-Con is Sub-Contrast but I have no idea what Burn-In does, nothing changes when I change that option.

If you know what these options do, please let me know!

I'm not sure if this works on all CTX monitors, but you can try.

Also, if anyone knows how to restore the factory default settings, I'd also like to know how.

Thanks

CTX VL950S 19 inch has way more than just a single plus and minus button. Nine buttons total actually, and 4 of those are plus/minus (or technically up/down).

Location is part of the default menus on mine though, seems an odd one to be "hidden".

How did you "accidentally" hold down two buttons, turn the monitor off then on and THEN release the buttons?

CTX's website has gotten crappy, hard to find things. The link to download manuals loads a page that won't actually load any manual links, with a database error, and most of the models' own pages have unused links to their own manuals. You could just email them.

I accidentally hit the menu because I was reading somewhere that that same button sequence reset the monitor to the factory default settings. But, it didn't for me and I thought it did nothing till I looked at the on-screen menu. However, the "Special" menu option does disappear over time though.

And I have to agree, CTX's web site is a very bad maintained one. But I'll try to e-mail them about it.
