CTS Wagon Review

for the love of god...what is going on in your post. I will definitely read this article as soon as I get a chance. I really hope this car sells well here in the states...I really want more wagon options in the future. I like this car a lot.

I agree with edmunds on this. The CTS Wagon is done real well, but wagons in the US do not sell well.

BMW, Volvo, etc... have wagons but sell very few of them. If GM, through the CTS wagon, can not sell many and turn peoples idea of a wagon around, GM will have to kill it.

That will make me so sad. I'm really hoping the general trend toward wagons will improve with peoples move to CUV's. For the longest time my wife wouldn't even consider a wagon...but she is coming around to it now. Guess I'll have to stick with a Subaru or a European brand if I want a wagon. Even Audi is talking about coming out with an A3 sedan...yuck!!! What is wrong with people.

Another thing that pisses me off is Subaru not coming out with a legacy wagon...just a raised Outback...sonofabitch!! I love my friend's legacy wagon.

Looks fantastic and seems like they loved it, but I think it's too expensive.

Its a Cadilliac, not a base model old body Malibu MAXX. That and their car had many upgrades.

Well, the Outback has done very well in the US.

Read the first impression...while the car sounds fantastic...it makes me sad that it is likely to be a enormous failure. I can only hope that it is a big hit over in Europe...crossing fingers...

wagons sell like hotcakes here. they're just called 'SUVs'

ok...well I revise my statement...I want less shitty wagons available here in the States and more quality wagons available like Audi's, CTS Wagons, and Subaru Legacy Wagons.

in fact... they shouldn't call this the 'CTW Sport Wagon.' they should call it the XTS Crossover (X for cross, right?). i bet it sells like hotcakes then.

actually, Mercedes, BMW, VAG, Ford, and GM sell a lot of wagons, just not in North America. For some reason, you lot think that your ridiculous SUVs are better 😉

I am presuming it's the Holden Sportswagon we get here:

We get a V8 however, and a monumentally less ugly rump 😉

No...I think you're model is based on the G8 (commodore) platform (zeta?). Whereas this is based on the same platform as the CTS (sigma). Both are good platforms...but I think in general the sigma is a little more highly regarded (car experts correct me if I'm wrong).

You are correct. GM actually was going to bring over the G8 wagon and ute, but the elimination of the Pontiac brand killed it. There is always a change of a CTS-V wagon which would put the Zeta based wagon to shame.

my only big concern is the price. $54k is a ton to dump on a wagon, but it's comparable to a similarly priced A6 avant, 5series wagon, etc. (granted the base model is $40k)

Not digging the D pillar that much. Too thick, looks a bit like a hearse. Which is a bummer, since I generally like wagons.

How can you bitch about $54k and in the same breath acknowledge the base price is only $40k, which is considerably less than it's competition.😕
