This car kicks serious ass, if its priced at 60-65K, it will be 20 grand less than the german competition (M5, E63) and faster.

Its got the motor, the bilstein suspension, the brembo brakes, the awesome interior, and the technology.

The only thing I dislike (and this this being picky) is I don't care for the rear lights, looks way to grandpa-ish for me.

For what it's worth, that's like $35k less than the competitors.

M5 starts around $83K and the E63 is around $85K, I don't know what your point is though, we already confirmed its a lot cheaper than its competition.

The point is, at the $60k range, it's priced like an M3/C63; an absolutely amazing bargain. I don't think I've ever heard of anyone who picked up an M5 stickered under $90k (most are up over $100k). Same with the E63.

I can't believe no one has yet pointed out that the GM press release that Edmunds is referring to says 3.9 seconds to 60 MPH, NOT 3.5. 3.5 is obviously a typo on the part of Edmunds, since they include the release directly below their summary.

Don't get me wrong, 3.9 is still blisteringly, mind-bogglingly fast. But this isn't going to top the ZR1, 911 Turbo, GT2, GT-R, or other true supercars.

that was established long ago in this thread. you're a little late to the game 😛

in a luxury car, 556 hp doesn't make up for a shitty interior, shitty design, and shitty build quality. just like a Z06 is half the price of a 911, i'd take a used 911.

Have you been in a Caddy lately? If this was the late '90s, I'd agree, but these days they put out a very decent product. They have no answer to the S-Class or the 7-series, but what they do have is very competitive in quality.

According to members here and reviews, the new generation CTS has a much nicer build quality than the older CTS.

See it goes to show that old stigma's are still there. People talk smack without researching. Look at Toyota, They used to be the best in quality but people still think they are.

Well, as a former 325i and E39 M5 owner, I must say, I can see where he's coming from. The Cadillac of yesteryear (until the crystalline makeover style-wise, with the accompanying massive increase in smoothness/refinement/sport) was getting very stale, pudgy, and uninspired. The same can be said for much of detroit product, from the meat-and-potatoes Taurus/Lumina, to the entry-level Escort/Cadavalier, to the 'premium' Town Car / Caddys. It's great to see real effort go into competing on a global stage.
