Ctrl keys acting weird in XP

Every time I press it, the internal speaker beeps and that's it. Any thoughts? It's not stickykeys.

only think i can think of is to check and make sure you have a normal US keyboard layout and not something weird., how old is the keyboard? does it use a driver?

It's an older Acer keyboard but it's been working fine.

Try a different keyboard, hell, you can get 'em for less than $10.
