This question has been bothering me for the longest time... do you guys know where that temporary text is saved to? which directory when you copy something?

It's not saved on the harddrive level. It's stored in RAM(whether it be cache or system ram).

It's printed to the sub-layer of your monitor. That's why larger monitors allow more to be saved to the clipboard.

I don't believe that Microsoft has specified whether it's stored in RAM or not. It's most likely stored in pageable memory so it might be swapped out to the pagefile.

Microsoft guarantees that the operating system will manage the clipboard for you if you use their interface. It's a black box, by design.

No, no. The electrons get released from the monitor when you press Ctrl-C and hover around the monitor. When you press Ctrl-V, they are attracted back to the screen. But you're right, larger monitors can store more because they have a larger electron field.

:D
