Ctrl+B/I/U shortcuts don't work in Chrome, but...

Is this the PHPBB mod we're using to enable the shortcuts? If not, maybe we should check it out. It claims to be tested / working with Chrome.
 
I believe Chrome is never going to fix this. WYSIWYG textareas, like the one used for Gmail, seem to work fine with Ctrl+B.

Does anyone know why this is still broken?
