CSA confederate states of america

i went to see it mostly to support local film. I have a pretty dark/sick sense of humor. But i found myself hardly laughing at anything, and feeling very uncomfortable when the mostly white audience laughed. regardless of the fact that it was a fictional scenario, much of the "humor" of the morally backward confederate slave society was actually a reflection of things that did exist within the last 100 years in our society. Despite most people seeing slavery as the real issue of the civil war, it was merely political ammunition, as was demonstrated by the actual lincoln quote opening the movie. Though the north linked slavery to the issue of succession, the racism underlying slavery was not really of interest to them once the union was secure.
