CS Source Issue

Let me start off by giving some background info. CS source ran great on one of my older systems at 1280 X 1024 all settings on high, 2X AA and 8X AF

OLD System Specs

AMD Barton 3200
Asus mobo (based on via chipset)
6600GT AGP 128MB
1Gb OCZ DDR3200 RAM

I recently built a new PC consisting of the following:
AMD 3700+
Asrock 939Dual-VSTA (latest BIOS)
6600GT AGP 128MB (from old system)
1Gb OCZ DDR3200 RAM (from old system)

Now when I try playing Source at the exact same settings as my old system, it seems to crawl (1 -2 frames per second) It is slow even before the game starts, ie choosing your character. If I put the texture detail to medium and leave all other settings maxed out, it runs fine (but doesn't look good)

I have updated the BIOS, tried newer and older video card drivers, got the latest AGP driver but still have the same issue. I set the AGP slot in the BIOS to 8X, turned fast writes off\on. As far as I can tell, all other games are fine. Any ideas ??

PS: I have a similar system, see sig, that plays the game at these settings just fine

Download and run Driver Cleaner. Then install new drivers. Also, make sure you're using the latest drivers for your cpu as well. Fast writes should always be off. Take a look at your page file and make sure it's enough. In the bios make sure any setting for your memory and vid card is right, and don't overclock anything.

It was a fresh windows install, so drivers should be fine. Page file is at 1.5GB. Memory is running at DDR400 as per CPUZ. I'll turn off fast writes, but it didnt make a difference when they were on or off. Nothing is being overclocked. What CPU drivers would be needed for an AMD3700 besided CnQ which i did not install nor use ?
