I was wondering..what generally makes your FPS drop when your playing a very large player game, say 32 vs. 32, or more.

I am having some trouble keeping a stable framerate when I am in such big games.

My Rig is as follows:

2.66 Ghz P4 no HT
640mb pc3200
Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb (ATI official)

I should be getting more ram shipped today, which was not to aid this problem, i just needed it.

But whats the bottle neck with high ammounts of players on screen? CPU? GPU? RAM?

Thanks.

I had an XP2800 with a 9800 non-pro and hit the wall at about 54 fps in the CS:S stress test at 10x7. I upgraded to a Newcastle 3800 and the fps is at 99 in the same test with the same card. True, the card is getting old and the one I have isn't even a pro. but it did give it some new legs so I can get a few more miles out of it before I need to get a new card.

You're right, it sucks to have a fast system that isn't up to par anymore. I hated to tear down my perfectly good NF7. At least it's still a good board that won't go to waste. It will be used again in the future for something else.
