Ok, whenever I play cs and alt-tab out of it and go back in, the sound gets messed up. I dont know how to really explain it. but everythings all fuzzy and echo-y sort of. Anyone have this happen?

try changing and resetting your speaker settings... so if you have it set to 4 speakers, set it to 2, click apply, then go back to 4 speakers... this has fixed my sound a few times after alt-tabbing

Alt-tabbing is pretty poor in Source games, if I try to alt-tab out of DoDS or HL2 it almost always crashes and I wind up having to end the HL2 process. Not much help I know, but in my experience the Source engine really doesn't like alt-tabbing, you might be better off just not doing it at all.

My old comp did that, but my new setup for some reason doesn't.

My verdict: the new soundcard (new sound drivers, new settings, etc.)

Whenever I alt-tab out of CS:S (or it minimizes itself for some reason) the sound gets more echo...e.

So I just try not to alt-tab out.

hm odd, alt tab works fine for me, it just takes a long time to return to the game so its not worth the trouble.

I hit the start botton the other day and when I went back to the game the sound was like that to, but the server switched maps and it was fine after that so if you would quit and then rejion it should help.
