CS:S... what is wrong with all the servers?

I've been playing counter strike for maybe 5 years now (since 1.2 I believe), and I pride myself in being a good part time admin (my server is not 24/7), and also an excellent player. I have excellent aiming/reflexes (well in game reflexes at any rate) and I know all the little tricks and secrets to the game.

Recently I have been noticing that in every single server now there are always whiny bitches who complain about me hacking when i do too well. *don't stop reading now, this isn't a brag post, i'm sure there are other good players here as well who have the same experience* I can understand if they think i am after watching me for awhile and i'm on a roll, but I was banned after the first round on one server. the admins these days seem to just want the crappiest players on their server to make themselves feel better or something.

Also, there is a huge increase in script kiddie wannabe myg0t hackers. it's ridiculous. the only good thing is so far it seems that there are no REAL aimbot hacks, only this 3rd party program that speeds up their computer, so they still suck and i'm still able to kill them if i'm careful (and then say "owned" and" there is no replacement for skill"..teehee!!!.

But there are so many of those people that in between dumb FF servers with 8 year olds TK'ing, noob speed hackers, and noob admins that i'm barely able to play on one server for longer that 20 minutes.

i'm getting REAL tired of all this sh!t from source, even though it is a great game. valve better do something about this soon (at least the hackers part, there will always be noob admins), or i'll be real disappointed in them.

anyways, anyone else having their CS playtime ruined by idiots? BTW sorry if it doesn't totally make sense... just really pissed off right now after playing.

ooo... just remembered something. like i said before, there are a lot of noob hackers, and sometimes it leads to hilariosity. this guy was speed hacking on awp source, and me being the leet sniper that i am, kept killing him every time he stood still. i killed him so many times that even HE was complaining that I was hacking. god, i hate these new idiots coming to ruin HL and CS.

CS is human nature, learn to live with it, only solution is to get into a small group of (mature) people and play only them and other groups, they're called clans, I dont know if there are still left tho (mature clans that is)

You have to realise that the average CS player is around 10 to 14 so that also explains a lot.
(and no I'm not making this up, last lanparty there was a whole corner for CS and there were kids there that were barely out of the womb)

Yes there are still mature clans out there and yes there are still good server admins out there. Bit more of a pain now to admin a server since Source does not have any anti cheat whatsoever. It's not like VAC prevents all cheats on 1.6 but at least it prevents some, on source they can pretty much run rampant. Man I hope adminmod for source is released soon, at least then it'll make kicking & banning the hackers a bit easier. Btw you're a bit off on versions if you have been playing for 5 years. I've been playing for 5+ years and I started with beta 5. CS 1.2 was released about a year and a half to 2 years ago.

i've noticed, and it's true that its been here ever since the start of online communities and stuff(on other things than CS of course), but there has been a serious increase ever since HL2 came out. Maybe because it's getting so popular that all the noobs are getting onboard now, or maybe just because myg0t is getting more known. but either way this is all bullsh!t IMO

I got banned from a server apparently. I can only assume I was banned, because I lost connection and can't reconnect, even though I know the server is still up and running. Someone accused the server in general about hacking, "Where'd you get those hacks" is all they said. I said I got them at www.gotskill.com and blam lost connection. It's a freakin joke! Although it doesn't help that I was kicking butt

Thank you, you've managed to collectively list all the reasons I don't play CS anymore. Hey, it was fun for quite a while, but that was SEVERAL YEARS ago(including Betas)! There's way too many other games available of a similar nature for me to play with anyway.

I still play CS once in a great a while, but usually only at a LAN party - online is pointless. :roll:

CS:S does have an anti-cheat system, and it's being enabled soon. It's called VAC. They should have used PB though.

Yes, it's terrible, but once in a while you will find the rare server that has a good connection, good admins, and some good players. I usually just stay with one of these, though I really stopped playing CS much after 1.4 came out because of the gameplay changes. I only play CS:S once in a while for a bit of fun, but I can't stand it for very long anymore.

they haven't updated their HL1 VAC in a while, what makes me think they will update their HL2 VAC?

Yeah, CS has sucked more and more since 1.6
Shutting down WoN and making everyone rely on Steam/VAC has made cheaters all too common, can't play for an hour without a few showing up.
And the huge headshot hitboxes are another annoyance.

CS went downhill all the way from b5.2, but 1.5/WON -> 1.6/STEAM was by far the worst downgrade.

Saw at least 5-6 of them just yesterday.
Back in the good ole days of WAN and CD they were pretty much nonexistant.

to my knowledge there aren't any aimbot cheats in CS:S, though there are tons of people using some 3rd party speeder upper program that makes them run insanely fast. 1.6 is totally fvcked though, there are hacks that makes people automatically shoot through anything without the player even having to click a button (I know because on my server i've done an amx_execclient "hacker" "unbind all" and they'll still be able to shoot)

Yup.
On the server I mostly play on they've enabled people to follow both teams while dead as a way for people to spot cheaters quicker.
Works fairly well, and the admins are a good bunch, so cheaters typically get kicked quickly, but still, it does get pretty annoying.
