Ive seen other threads of ppl running 12x10 with aa. My card seems to have trouble with this game - it can run at that res with w/o the goodies and it seems to do fine but then it stuters sometimes. I noticed this especially when i joined a deathmatch server. Also it lags when people start talking on the mic... is this my card or what?

Does it do that only in the beginning of the game, or does it do it sometimes throughout?

If its only in the beginning it happens to my system too, something about loading things from hard drive or something. Some smart guys here can explain that :D

I was able to do that for the while that i had my 6600 GT. 1280x1024 2xAA 8xAF went ok

but regarding the stuttering, it may have to do with the 128 mb that the 6600 GT has, as well pair that with large textures and limited system memory, you might see stuttering.

could it be an internet problem? i didn't see my ping jumping- about 20. I dont think i had anything running other than aim- maybe that was the problem.

cs:s performance varies largely on the number of players on the server

try drop down to 10x7 and see if that helps - you could also stick to servers with under 30 players
