CS:S, is Dust 2 a CT sided or T sided map?

in 1.6, the reason d2 is T sided is because the bomb spots are too far apart while at lower levels of play it's quite hard to recapture the B site because it takes good coordination and good use of flashbangs. Haven't played much CS:S but i don't think they changed the map much

Wait... you play source over 1.6?

That means this thread is a automatic fail. ;)

Ehh don't listen to him. If you rush as a T, you an take B like nobody's business in a pub. Scrim is different obviously. Some nades and flashes and you're set to take it in no time with everyone rushing it. Remember it's very different from playing a pub to a real team.

God, I hate Dust 2. Most overplayed map ever :p

But yeah, pretty much everything that has been said above.

It's a relatively balanced map that requires some cooperation from either team to win consistently. Personally, I would never say either side is easier in a pub as that is decided by the quality of player on each team. No cooperation from your teammates and every rush will fail.

Back when I used to play Dust 2 (1.6) I felt that CT had an easier time. If you had an unbalanced team either way that changes, but with both balanced CT had the advantage. T's tend to not rush and it's easier to pick off the straggler from "inside" than out. Now, I never played in upper-level leagues and such, just casually, and it was a no AWP/auto sniper server.

I disagree, i feel that in a pub its much easier to be CT but from an organized standpoint i feel its a T sided map. for one you have 3/4's of the map on your spawn side. and for two you have more fake/rotation's/kill points available to you because of how much of the map is on the T side. (Cutting the map at Mid DD)

CT sided, but a well organized T rush into either bombsite is very difficult to stop. The "well organized" part is the great difficulty. :D All too often some schmuck decides they must FB before They rush out, even when they are well behind the Team and the Team has already FB'd the crap out of CT.

Are all the games you play 25 years old?

1.6 is a little over 5 years old...

And it is no secret that 1.6 > Source :p

Though I don't really have a problem if people play Source (I have both).

Considering it's still the #1 played fps these days and still fun as hell why wouldn't you?

It is a CT sided map because there is only one way to rush.

CT knows where the T is going to rush.

CS:S has more players than 1.6

Back to the original question, CT is in general "easier" on the map. Pick a chokepoint and rush to it right off the bat, you will normally get there before the Ts so you can camp out and wait for them.

If you want to rush as CT, you can smoke middle, head through the doors into sniper alley, immediate right and then up the stairs to cut off short B. No hesitation or there will be a sniper all ready to take you out.

I like to rush.

Casual player here, never participated in any competitive play always joined whatever server had the lowest ping and didn't have swear filters and/or had a porno picture in the MOTD.. I always thought CT was easier in general for any of the de_ maps, cs_ maps too..

in fact, when is it ever easier to play as T?

From my experience, D2 is a T sided map in competitive play but CT sided in random pugs.

Competitive play being 5v5, it is hard for the CT to cover both spots equally and a typical strategy involves overloading one spot with 3, having a floater near spawn and a floater/watcher of the other spot.

Pug play is just a killboard and you will invariably find several T who camp their spawn in fear of dying and the numbers are generally higher than 5v5 which allows CT to cover both spots effectively.

I remember CT rush strats, described above, but only if we got the good spawn points, if not, it wasn't worth it.

I only play 1.6 on my shitty integrated video laptop and Source on my rig. :)

I haven't played any of them in awhile though.

Can you still throw flashbangs over the double doors when going Long A?
