CS:S and Creative X-Fi

OK...so I just got my X-Fi Platinum...and trouble with it. I can play CS:S for the first time around, but if I leave the server, suddenly it lags up like crazy...I have to go into task manager (which takes FOREVER) to kill the program...

I never had this on my Audigy 2 ZS, so I'm guessing its hardware/driver related???

i don't know much about sound cards.....but did you completely remove the old drivers and disabled integrated sound? Btw, (in most situations) it's best to install the drivers directly from the manufacturer site and skip the cd drivers.


does this only happen in cs:s? tried any other games (such as valve games)?
