CS questions(there are several)

1) Why do you call it an AWP? it says AW/M in the menu so....?

2)Is there an m60, i've heard its there yet never seen it?????

3)Why the |-|ell does my sound always cut out when i leave the game? Is it a bug or soemting not setup correctly or.....?????

4)unrelated to CS, but: has ne1 heard about firearms? Good? Bad? worth postoning CS for another 45 minutes to finish d/l?

5)Another unrelated question: who keeps stealing MajesticMoose? It took me 10 minutes to pick a name at geocities(got bored and quit anyway). One would think that this is an obscure enough name to be safe. GRRRRRR

I know the AWP is called as such because it used to be known as the Arctic Warfare Police instead of the Arctic Warfare Magnum. The initials stuck longer than the name did.

I believe there's an M49 (I think 49's the number) Parabellum, but not an m60.

Firearms? I heard good things about it, tried it, didn't like it, dumped it.

The sound cuts off for me if I switch out of CS using alt-tab (when I come back into CS, there's no sound in the game), but nothing happened that closing CS and restarting didn't fix.

1) i don't know either, but when you kill someone, it says ___ killed ___ with awp
2) i dont' think there is an m60, maybe they are confusing it for the m4a1 carbine
3) i think it's a bug, just push escape again and go to resume game and it should be either fine or backwards. just repeat it if it's backwards
4) have no idea.. is it a mod?

you'll get the feared mp5, less recoil, good for newbies... a newbie mistake is to spray with a colt or ak and destroy the hell out of the wall.

I resent your condescending attitude. I've been playing for about a year. I know what the f-cking buy key is. I know all of the default bind keys. Another thing i know is that there were a lot less crappy players b4 v1(as well as fewer bugs and cheaters).

Why would i buy just the kevlar? why not hit o2 smartass(kevlar+helmet)
Why would i get the grenade, it's no fun if you can't see them.

You also want me to get the mp5? yes its a good gun but m4a1 is better, as is the steyr aug. perhaps you were assuming that i won't get that much money.

Newbies aren't trying to destroy a wall, they just can't aim for sh!t. They would be a hell of alot better off with the colt or ak47 so that when you hit something its easier to kill.

I usually never buy the helmet because if you get shot in the head you'll die anyway. I've only been playing for a couple weeks so that's been my experience so far. Is there any advantage to the helmet?

i never go w/o it but i think it raises your total armor level. I doubt if it computes the damage to armor differentiated b/t head and body, but on this i could be wrong.

The helmet doesn't raise your total armor level, it only protects you from headshots from pistol rounds.

Newbies should use Desert Eagle until they learn how to aim. Once you get good with the DE everything else is a cinch.

M4 isn't better than the MP5, they are designed for different situations. Sometimes I prefer using MP5 for its fast rate of fire. Depends on the game, depends on the opponents.

The m4 is "better" if you can control your shots. If you're good at aiming well and shooting in controlled bursts, the m4's additional power and silencer ability is very handy. Shooting the mp5 at full auto is 95% of the times a waste of ammo unless you're in close quarters, in which case the m4 would still have the advantage because the spray effect will be nearly irrelevant at close range.

it is definatly a good idea to shoot in bursts with any of the auto guns. I've sniped ppl on several occasions using the mp5, but only if firing in bursts.

the best tactic is to walk up to a corner where an enemy is on the other side, then jump out and circle strafe. But you should have already shot him twice in the head (1 for the death, one for a bitchslap) right after you jump into the air from around the corner....

MP5 and Aug are by far my favorite weapons. MP5 for overall close assault and Aug for mid-range battle. For a sure fire long-range battle, such as in cs_militia, I would of course buy AWP. Of course it's overpowered, but I've gotten used to avoid getting shot in areas of a map I know well with a gun. Good example is in aztec @ the bridge, of in militia the T's like to camp on the roof with AWP's.

Sure, if you know someone is right around the corner and he doesn't know you're coming, that's a great plan.

The m4 is the best gun in the game. Sure, urban will argue that the AK is, and they're almost the same, but the m4 is better. The m4 has less recoil than the AK. With the AK, if you fire more than two rounds in succession you'll paint the walls with bullet holes. With the m4, on the other hand, you can usually get three shots off. I always use the m4 unless there's certain circumstances in which other guns are better, such as:

• Assault/Assault 2k - The shotgun or auto shotgun is excellent becaus the entire map is close range
• ProSpeedball - Same as above, I usually use m3, occasionally the auto shotgun because 99% of the time on this map you turn a corner and BAM! there's the enemy. You want a gun with one shot kills to the chest. You want the m3.

The trick with the m4 is that you always have to use burst fire. I tend to use three shot bursts unless I am less than 10ft away from the enemy, then I'll use full auto and circle strafe. The other reason I love the m4 so much is that if you have good accuracy you can snipe as well as someone with a scout. This is true for the AK as well...from across the entire Jeepathon map I can kill someone with two headshots from an m4 or an AK.

Oh, and the mp5 sucks compared to the m4 so long as you know how to use the latter. It's the deadliest weapon in the game (yes, yes, as is the AK )

Nod to that! Somebody who has experience with AK in short ~3 shot bursts can outsnipe somebody with a Sig sometimes (well, a newbie) It's so easy to get a headshot with m4 and AK, at least it seems to me. I used to choose p90 all the time as a newbie, along with 'the' newbie stick, auto shotty. I then grew to AK and noticed it wasn't as rapid fire efficient in close range, so I then evolved to MP5. MP5 is great for close range and mid-close range, but for heavy sniping, and being an SMG it doesn't really fit. Then I evolved a lot to Aug - now I realize what I said above and change the weapon according to the map, and/or where I *know* the enemy will be next round. (Ex: rushing sewers, Aug + HE Gren is no brainer as a CT..)

Eh, personally I hate the AUG. You can't get more than one shot off before you start spraying everywhere. Sure it's powerful, but not much you can do if you can't hit the guy.
