CS problems!

Whenever I press ESC, my comp reboots. Whats wrong damnit! Console works... I'm running DX8 with the newest vid drivers from Nvida.com

Try some of the beta 7.x drivers from 3dchipset

try reinstalling CS. if that doesn't work, and you can afford to do it, reinstall the os. you might be missing some files. it happened to me and reinstalling the os worked.

if you do format don't put DX8 back on. Also as of now there is a DX8.1 or something you should also get that before you do format.

I just did a format. It did it even with DX7..lem me try the beta drivers...

Now it doesn't crash but it won't goto the main menu...

So is it just me or does halflife as a mod platform kinda suck? I mean talk about bugs!! Right now on my machine not only can I not exit the game without coming back in to have no sound like everyone else, but also with increasing frequency after it finished prechacheing and the console retracts so I can join the game and choose a team.....it stops after the console raises like an inch. I cant do anything then. I wind up having to hit escape 2x and then "resume game". Sadly when I do the textures are all all messed up and blinking. So any obstacles in my wall that aren't like walls can be seen through, and I get a seizure in like 30 seconds. It really makes the game alot less fun to have to exit and rejoin every time i want to play
