CS problems with mouse/keyboard

I recently purchased a laptop and for some reason, I can't move diagonally or mouselook while I'm moving. Even weirder is that it only happens in internet games. It's totally fine when I try a lan game.

I'm almost certain that I've installed everything correctly, drivers for the lappy and stuff. I basically installed Half-Life, then the hl1110 and csv15. I've reinstalled three times too but to no avail.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
