CS mic Problem

I can use my mic on my old computer, with the same internet connection, online just fine. But when i use it on my new computer it pulses on and off as long as i am using it. This problem only happens in counter-strike, the mic works fine otherwise, it also only happens in counter-strike when playing on a server that is not being hosted on this machine (i.e. the mic works fine when i am hosting a lan game). Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I've tried switching sound cards, and that did not seems to fix it.

AMD Athlon 2400+
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
ATI Radeon 9700
512ddr RAM
ASUS A7V8X mobo
 
I had a friend who had that same problem. I just asked him and he said it was never resolved. Wish I could've helped.
 
Well i managed to find out the problem and fix it, even though cl_cmdrate was set to 30 in the config.cfg it was getting reset to 10 somehow. By setting cl_cmdrate 30 in the autoexec.cfg the problem can be fixed :0
