I haven't played CS since they change the name to CS: Go. I thought lootboxes sucked, but I had no idea how bad it could get. These 2 videos are pretty eye opening.

I have lost all respect for Valve. I am using GoG as much as I can from now on.

Yeah but they handle about 75% of the customer relation side, from refunds, on site Ads, to transactions, to distribution.
Servers are not cheap, neither is the multipul enterprise class fiber bandwidth to dish out to its customers.

When was the last time you even heard of Steam getting hacked, or them leaking your payment info?

And I think by far Apple and google play are far far worse then Steam.

Why do bots only necro old threads? Is there some sort of programming that makes them only comment on threads that haven't been active in a long time?

Since you did such a good job of predicting a necro.... I will respond. A lot of it has to do with bot training. At some point in time, a snapshot was taken of a whole lot of sites and data. That snapshot was then used to train the bots. It can sometimes take months of time for bots to train, and sometimes, the training materials was even old before the bots were designed and started training. The bots are then released, and now pick some thread that they algorithmically scored "best" on to be able to jump into a conversation, and comment on that thread, not taking into account that the date is months ago, and thus "necro" a thread.

The past few bot replies that necro'd old threads keep editing the comment a few days after the initial comment was made, but now it adds a clickable link like the one above you did. The link was added on Saturday and nobody has caught it yet...

It unregulated casino style gambling at this point and needs maximum regulations.

Disclaimers, gambling addiction messaging and information on support services in the game. Valve needs to do a lot more and is simply not doing their part.

The main stream media love making video games the scapegoat for violence all the while gambling in videogames goes rampantly uncontested. They got a slam dunk of a story in their face and yet we hear nothing.

Yeah, I totally get your frustration with CS:GO and the lootbox system – it really does feel like the line between gaming and gambling has blurred too much. If you’re looking for a safer way to get that thrill of spinning or trying your luck, you might want to check out https://casinosfest.com/fr/casino-en-ligne-10-depot/ – these platforms let you play real money casino games with a minimal deposit, so you can experiment with slots, table games, or other gambling mechanics without risking a ton. I’ve used them to test strategies and just enjoy the game mechanics in a controlled way, and it gives the same kind of excitement as lootboxes but in a regulated environment. Honestly, it’s kind of a nice alternative: you still get the thrill of chance and rewards, but with clear rules, transparent payouts, and lower risk, which makes it feel way more fair than some of the RNG systems Valve uses.
People laugh at bots for necro’ing threads, but humans do the same — we dig up old memories, old wounds, old jokes, and drop them back into the present like nothing changed. Maybe the real “casino” isn’t CS:GO skins but the gamble of what happens when the past suddenly re-enters the now.
