using gts 2

via 4in1 4.28 tried and 4.25 also

using the 3.011 ide drivers

using winme

need help cant play CS

"don't work" and "can't play" aren't the best descriptions of the problem for people to try to help ya man. Get more speciffic

Maybe a corrupt installation file? Try uninstalling/deleting all of Half-Life, re-installing, then download and re-install Counterstrike as well. Hope this helps.

Had a friend with the same problem. He formatted his drive to NTFS, installed Win2000 and it's working fine now. Go figure.

I recently had a similar problem when playing ANY game on my system, the problem ended up being a bad stick of ram. I even tried ram testers like those found here but even that didn't find the problems. I stuck in different RAM and never had the problem again. I just called Crucial and got an RMA on the old RAM, waiting for it to show up now.

Just thought of one more thing, did you make sure the RAM you were using in your old system was compatible with VIA chipsets?

You might wanna look at upgrading that PS to 300W AMD approved
That's what I had to do when I got my enlight case... and I'm only running an Athlon 750.

I would try deleting HL and taking it out of the registry, and re-installing. Also, if you do not have the latest patch, you need it (of course..especially for CS..).
