I'm trying to figure out how to ask this so I wont be flamed off the planet (but hey, this is ATOT, so it may happen no matter what
). So here goes:
I was assinged an essay in my CS class (its a digital ethics class if you need to know) and I need a couple people that are willing to do a quick email interview. I would be more then happy to compensate the first three or four people with a little bit of money in paypal (~$5? Could be more if I reallly like your answers ). This topic that was assigned to me is rather broad: "hacking." I've been going at it by rehashing the old hacker versus cracker debate, plus just a little bit of random rambling about the ethics behind computer fraud and the courts stance on the whole thing.
Since apperantly computer science majors dont know how to write an essay, I am required to include two excerpts from interviews, so anyone who wants to do the email interview would need to provide me with their full name (or first initial and last name, whatever), age, and occupation. You can PM me your email address if you'd like to particapate, you'll get my questions within an hour, and would need them back in a timely manner. Or you can hit me up on AIM if you'd rather do it that way. Screen name is Justinzoey
Also, random thread responders can answer me this:
When you hear the word hacker, what is the first thing that pops to mind? How would you define the word? What do you think of people who claim to be hackers? What do you think of people who actually ARE hackers?
When you hear the word cracker, what is the first thing that pops into your head that is COMPUTER related? How would you define the word? What do you think of people who claim to be crackers? What do you think of people who actually ARE crackers?
If your answers are particularly moving, or your insight awe inspiring, I may PM you asking for your name so I can use it in my essay.

EDIT: Since there is very little interest, lets up the payout shall we? 2 people will get $10, 2 will get $5. If I only get one respondant, he gets it all.
