voice communication and no more bunny hopping should really improve the game. I have a feeling they are testing this stuff for CS2 (for the Team Fortress 2 engine) which I know is in production, even though if its like TF2 it will be a while before its released.

For those interested, here is the changelog for the upcoming CS 1.3:

- Multicast spectator added.
- Voice communication added.
- Added server chat to logging.
- Redesigned multiplayer scoreboard.
- CapsLock key is now bindable.
- Switching to Spectator is now logged.
- Changed minimum value for "mp_chattime" to 1 second
- Changed minimum value for "mp_buytime" to 0.25 (15 seconds)
- Radio commands can be heard by nearby enemies.
- Added commandmenu ability

Have the CS 1.3 already!

For linux, at least. Extracted it and took out the new maps, textures, etc, so at least I've run through de_torn already. Decent map, nothing too special, IHMO.

My friend will have his server up pretty soon after CS and HL's release. I bought into the fileplanet personal server, so I hope their site won't be nearly as hammered as it usually is on Fileplant.

you can already download torn.. i think it's an awesome map.. kinda big though... the textures are amazing... i've only found one bomb site... i think that might be it..

surivior is awesome too.. finaly a good snow map

All I can find so far is the retail version. I am still trying to get my hands on the mod version of 1.3 I have the valve update installed so I am good to go there. Look at the other poat about 1.3 to see where I found the Valve patch and the retail CS updates.

2 ques:
if you have new version installed, can you play on servers with the old version?
if i install the newer HL and then CS1.3, will i run into those probs realated to dlls and maps, just like i had when i first installed CS? - this is wy i haven't updated much in a while.
