I have a new CrystalOrb on a LeadTek GF2MX400. For those of you unfamiliar with the card, it's a little excessive on the features. It has an onboard temperature probe and RPM sensing fan. Well, shame the stock HSF is junk, and likes to die on you. (Sleeve bearings suck.) It also uses a mini 3-pin connector, similar to WOL, but smaller. I'd like to connect my CrystalOrb directly to my GF2MX400 so I can turn the hardware monitor back on. (I's overclocked, but goes into alarm and shuts down due to lack of RPM sense.) I'm concerned about power draw though. The CrystalOrb is HUGE and the stock fan is tiny, with no information on draw at all. Can I safely trim my CrystalOrb's leads and connect it to my card directly, or should I just split off the RPM sense and use the 2-4 pin adapter included with it? Thanks in advance!
