Crystal methods new CD - Legion of Boom

Great CD!

My favorite tracks are Starting Over, and Born Too Slow (also on the NFS Underground soundtrack).

😀

It's quite good. Bought it on release day for a whopping $9.71 from Best But. Very well worth it. A couple of the tracks sound like they're off The Chemical Brothers - Dig Your Own Hole album, at least they do to me. Regardless of that, it's a damn good album.

As some of you may know, I am the resident Crystal Method freak. 😀

I got the album via bittorrent like a month or two ago. Its pretty much the same as the one THAT I PRE ORDERED FROM AMAZON that I got in the mail the other day. Weapons of Mass Distortion and a couple other tracks are pretty good, but overall, the album CANNOT compare to Tweekend, and is even below Vegas IMHO. You cannot just listen to the album all the way through without finding annoying tracks that you have to switch past (IE, Realizer...WTF?) and be pumped the whole way through. It's just not as good as their previous stuff. Doesn't seem like a 3 year album.

BTW, I bought a pre-release Born Too Slow single with the special promo case from eBay a while back, and it has the instrumental version of Born Too Slow. It is much better, IMHO, than the one with the lyrics. The lyrics are a bit too whiny and loud for most casual listening. And thats the other thing - too many of the songs on the album feature singing. Vegas has almost none, and while tweekend had some, they were just sort of "afternotes," not the main feature.

Overall, 6/10, compared to Tweekend's 9.9/10 and Vegas's 8/10.
