Im on a level called ascension or something. I fly over this second bridge an I get sucked down to the ground. I put on the after burners but something pulls the ship down to the ground. What is going on?

It's either the air turbulence from the fires on the ground(they will cause you to crash if you fly over them), or you're flying too high and the ship is stalling. Not doing those things is what worked for me.

Its the tornadoes, stay close to the ground and fly as close to the sphere as you can and use afterburners a LOT.

that level sucked, the flying is horrible, I either kept getting sucked down and crashing to the ground (but not dying) or getting too much ice and freezing up.

as ProJohn said fly low and use afterburners, not too low though, I hit the ground a buncha times

I loved that level! Tornado's!!!!!!! Ahhh!!! I was blown away the first time I saw all of the twisters.
