Crysis Warhead widescreen problems

I just got my Acer widescreen 22" and I must say I am really happy with it. no complaints, only that when I go to play Crysis Warhead, it will not let me choose 1680x1050 and only gives me 1600x900. I am now wishing i had spent 100$ more for a 24" inch tho to use 1900res but the 24" wouldnt fit well on my desk and be off to the side and not directly in front of me.

I have the monitor installed with the Vista drivers, it installed automatically. I have desktop set to 1680x1050 also. I tried looking on google but got no answers.

any help?

You have to go to your configuration file and open in notepad and then change your width height appropriately.

Or you can create a shortcut and add "+r_width 800 +r_height 600", so you should have this as your line

"C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\Crytek\Crysis\Bin32\Crysis.exe" +r_width 800 +r_height 600

***Of course substitute the appropriate resolutions....

Well thank you very much. I really appreciate it.

oh but, if I wanna change the config file, which would it be? woud I change the config for the difficulty I'm playing at? I'm not at home right now 😛 so that's y I ask, so when I get home I can cut right to the chase and change it quick.

thanks

Here is the path for vista...

C:\Users\Seven\Documents\My Games\Crysis, the file you want is "game" open with note pad and change the r_height and r_width to your desired resolutions.

For XP I'm not sure but it will be in the same location as your saved games... it is not in the program folders. Probably in the root directory in the same area as personal settings.

I believe another way to do it is to hit ~ in game to bring up console and type "r_height <your res>" hit enter and r_width <your res>" hit enter (without the "<>")... I don't know if you can type it in the same line or if you have to do them individually.

I had to change the config file and my monitor is plug n play but has driver wouldn't work right with or without the drivers for Warhead but did work fine with the first Crysis.
