I got the rig in my sig, had to run crysis at 1024x700 only then I can turn on to HIGH with 2xAA. I thought I might be able to run into with 1280x1024 at MED but noooo. Anyone here know of any tips to tweak this game on my C2D@2.9 w/ 7900GS so it will run on 1280x1024?

turn shadows on to medium , turn sound on to low, and turn textures on to medium.

honestly a 7900gs isn't going to get you 30+ framerates at 1280x1024 (not even on medium)..this game is very demanding

Is the release more demanding then the demo? Just wondering, since I can run my 2 year old system 4000+ San Diego, 2GB Ram, ATI X1950Pro on Medium and I'm getting FPS around 16-25 on 1280X1024 which is not great but isn't bad.

AA off for sure, it's a slide show otherwise lol.

get another 2 gigs of ram, that'll help a lot (and it's dirt cheap right now).

Thanks guys, I'll try some in game settings change for now. This game is too much for my DX9 card.

QFT, AA (even just 2x) utterly rapes my fps in the demo. I'm doing medium settings in 1680x1050 on a 1950xt.

I got a solid 6-7 more FPS using this guide:
http://www.tweakguides.com/Crysis_1.html
and the info in this post:
http://www.incrysis.com/forums...topic.php?id=11614&p=1

What helped me the most was the config files in post #94 on page 5. I spent 2 hours messing around with tweaks, then I installed those and was inantly impressed with image quality and speed. I'm running an E2160 @ 3.2, 7800Gt, 4GB and Vista 64. Now the game is playable at 17-20 FPS at 960 x600 with plenty of candy. Crysis seems to play well at low FPS, even during heavy fighting. I'm usining ths version of the cvars files, they benched best with the crysis test by .75 FPS.

yah crysis wont run too great on anyone's machine for now. imo i think it is poorly optimized but crytek might have a ton of upcoming patches to fix that up.

Maybe it's just like they said it would be, tough to run on current hardware?

i personally think current hardware should be able to run crysis pretty well. especially the gtx/ultra cards in either single and in particular, sli mode. imo crysis doesnt look better than gears of war or unreal tournament 3. it looks quite a bit worse imo and runs much much worse too.

give crysis the right hardware, and let the developers include the full code base (which the current release of Crysis does not), and you will see why the game is more advanced.

just the sake of full destructability and the ability to go wherever you want takes the cake.

I must say it's very disappointing for me to play this game, after turning down some settings in 1280x1000 the game is playable on my system but the visual not even close to say Gears of War. I think I'll just deinstall it and wait until my next machine upgrade then play it. I even heard people saying all current gen g-cards are no good to play this game at max setting. Oh well, wait another year then. very disappointed.

If you've seen the benchmarks... you should know that Crysis rapes Geforce 7-series cards. According to the Gamespot features, the x1650xt trounces the 7900gs. The 7900gs even loses to an x800.
